{"id":581,"date":"2014-07-29T10:48:08","date_gmt":"2014-07-29T14:48:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/batchat.net\/?p=581"},"modified":"2014-07-29T10:48:08","modified_gmt":"2014-07-29T14:48:08","slug":"tales-of-the-cocktail-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bevologyinc.com\/blog\/2014\/07\/29\/tales-of-the-cocktail-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Tales of the Cocktail 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We attended Tales of the Cocktail 2014 last week along with Anthony King of BAT and Jon Brathwaite of Singani 63.\u00a0 Here are my big takeaways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next year I want Steven Soderbergh to be invited to be on Paul Clarke&#8217;s panel on the emergence of Brandy, Pisco, and Singani.\u00a0 This year Alex Day Death &amp; Co. bartender turned bar owner and mixology impressario, Duggan McDonnell of Encanto Pisco, and Alexandre Gabrielle of Cognac Ferrand.\u00a0 Paul is editor of Imbibe.<a href=\"http:\/\/steveraye.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/paul-clarke-panel-copy.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-584\" alt=\"Paul Clarke panel - Copy\" src=\"http:\/\/steveraye.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/paul-clarke-panel-copy.png\" width=\"1009\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>The big international spirits companies dominated the evening parties and events. Each year the challenge is to top the year before, and stand out from the others.\u00a0 Absolut did a carnival theme at Mardi Gras World that was great, and Wm. Grant took over the Lakefront airport with an Arabian nights theme, complete with sand, desert tents and a live camel.\n<p><div id=\"attachment_583\" style=\"width: 1264px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/steveraye.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/camel-copy-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-583\" class=\"size-full wp-image-583\" alt=\"Wm. Grant party featured an Arabian Nights theme complete with sand, Bedouin tents and a very sociable camel.\" src=\"http:\/\/steveraye.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/07\/camel-copy-2.png\" width=\"1254\" height=\"793\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-583\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wm.
